Sir Smith v. Leonardo Quintana and the City of Austin

In 2009, an Austin Police Department officer shot Sir Smith even though he was not armed. While he lived and did not suffer permanent physical injury, Sir Smith believed he should be compensated and that the officer should be held accountable. Jeff Edwards agreed and took over the case from another law firm.

His reputation and legal strategy helped turn around the case.   In September 2011, the City settled with Smith for $175,000, of which $103,000 went to Smith after his attorneys’ fees and expenses.  As a direct result, Smith has been able to restart his life and begin the healing process.

Jeff is currently handling a police shooting in Houston, Texas. Trial is set in August 2012.
